MTWTFSS WEEKDAY S/S 2013 was influenced by multiple identities and the result can best be described as an intense collage; a composition packed with references to popular culture, mixing materials, styles and expressions. The spring collection is the perfect blend of various styles naturally linked together.
MTWTFSS WEEKDAY S/S 2013 can’t be defined in one or two particular pieces of garments. Baggy pants, short sweaters and overall pants all appear side by side. It is electric, it is bold and it feels very Weekday equally provocative and humorous, the Weekday design team has played around with different stereotypes. The collection theme – multiple identities – is apparent in prints with classical hip-hop quotes typed in rock and roll typography. The daring mix of expressions and the play with cultural characteristics breed a consistent and swaggering whole. While the silhouette is more generous than we have gotten used to, the colour chart remains familiarly dominated by grey, black and white.
Another striking source of inspiration is the world of sports. One of the key look of the season is an entire outfit with jersey and shorts for cycling. Where the professional cyclist normally is covered in sponsor’s logotypes, the Weekday version comes with more urban prints. MTWTFSS WEEKDAY S/S 2013 is a collection created with a great deal of confidence and high spirit. Dollar signs, smileys, logos and silver pants all at once. This is Weekday at its best.
