Top Fashion Trends For Spring 2013

The spring and summer 2013 collections have made their way to the Runways. In the eyes of the designers 2013 is when the 60’are back with a chic edge. The era where “Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis” set the trend for classic fashion. In regards to color, the spring of 2013 will usher in lots of black and white, and tons of black and white combinations. Be ready to see lots of soft shades of white, neutrals, as well as all the predictable pastels on the racks this spring. Again this spring the color red will hold its own, paired with navy and white, to give fashions that all American look. As for the last four years, stripes remain to hold on, and were all over the spring runways. One more big trend that I should mention, lace. Lace is being added to fashions in the most peculiar places.

Let’s talk what’s the most popular item of clothing for spring/summer 2013, think lady like dresses and pencil skirts. Yes, dresses and skirts are big trend for spring / summer of 2013, and fashion must haves… However, this season fashion designers have also given us all kind of fun fashions. Fashions that will offer wonderful vivid prints, stripes, and geometric prints – not to mention some great new takes on animal prints… The main theme this spring is somewhat tailored, classic, with a touch of bold, and edgy added into the mix.

Black & White Fashion Splash

When you think about spring trends , surely you think flowery print and pastels, BUT designers think differently this year than everyone else. The big color trend for 2013 spring/summer will be black and white. Let’s face it – you can’t go wrong with the traditional classic black and white outfit, and designers know this little fact, and continue to cash in on it. What’s New in Shorts This Season? Bermuda short

The Bermuda short are back and they give a light neglijent look for the NY fashion queens. It is one alternative of the über short apron which go hand in hand with a perfect sporty body, so not really for everyone. Note that the new look in women’s pants/trousers has the waist falling just below the waist, and the fit is tailored to narrow as the pant leg travels down the leg to the ankle. The waist- line is a bit higher…And more comfortable  This year you will see some great changes in the waist band … Last year, you had the tiny hipster waists, plunging to an uncomfortable low, so to say.

In regard to length – You will see short shorts, to knee toppers, that just hit the top of the knee. The fit on a knee topper should be straight, not tight – straight. You will also see some great cuffed shorts, very tailored, and very cute. DKNY, House of Holland, Rag and Bone, Matthew Williamson, SS 2013 Foto: Yannis Vlamos

Pastels are still alive and well…

Although all these major changes nothing flatters a woman more than warm tones of pastels and floaty angel like fabric, the way it looks and match might have changed but this feminine basic will survive among decades to come in defining woman spring fashion.
