Enriching Moisturiser from AEOS

If you have read my previous reviews where I have written about other AEOS products, you probably know that I really liked Facial Mist. Yet Facial Mist was my second favorite product since Enriching Moisturizer, without a doubt, could be nominated a “King Product” in AEOS and would not have any major competitors in such category.

Enriching Moisturiser

As already mentioned, AEOS products work best when they are used together. It is suggested to use Enriching Moisturiser after the usage of Realive Serum. Since Realive Serum smoothes wrinkles and prepares your skin and can be used on a delicate eye area, Enriching Moisturiser serves a facial cream purpose. It is rich blend of organic and biodynamic essential oils, plant extracts and the energies of gems and crystals. Using Enriching Moisturiser should be the final step in AEOS Skincare Sequence.

I have started using this moisturiser when I was suffering from a relatively severe flu and had a runny nose, so you can imagine that the skin on my nose got really irritated since I had to blow it constantly. I noticed after I would apply moisturiser, my nose skin did not feel irritated at all.

It is said that Enriching Moisturiser is best for environmentally damaged, tired skin. I have noticed that after using moisturiser small blemishes on my skin disappeared and it has become much smoother than it was.

I simply adored the product since it has got the best ingredients of all AEOS products I tried before. The key ingredients are: jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, argan oil, lemon tea tree oil, levander oil and rosewater. No surprise why it smells so fresh…

Pros: deep moisturising effects, divine smell, great texture.

Cons: once again, price. It costs £58.99 (519 DKK) which is a little too much.

It is also worth mentioning that this blue Enriching Moisturiser has won Natural Health Beauty awards in 2012, therefore is a highly recommended product.

Aviendo: Natural Vegan Cosmetics

I had an opportunity to try natural skincare line by Aviendo, the company based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Even though the company has opened not too long, I feel they’re quickly aiming for the leaders position in the natural skincare market since 1. they are local and affordable, 2. natural, 3. firming and refreshing.

Aviendo is a company and a concept which has a goal, as they claim, to “enrich and inspire” promoting health-giving lifestyles. Being passionate for pure and natural products, Aviendo offers a wide variety of skincare products including facial creams, serums, eye care products, body moisturizers and cleansers.

Night face cream

If I had to be honest, I did not hear about the company before I tried the products. After receiving the products, I started following the company and was positively amazed with their positive, inspirational message that they send to users worldwide, yet mainly in Denmark. I liked the clear product description on their page and inspiring posts on their Facebook page, which definitely made me smile. It seems that the company is not only focusing on clean and healthy skincare, but rather on a healthy lifestyle and daily inspiration. Besides, I liked the fact that Aviendo offers a relatively small range of products, which made me sure that they rather focus on skincare and try to improve the level of their offerings instead of offering a wide range of so-so products.

I had a chance to try Aviendo’s extra firming aloe vera day and night face creams. After using both facial creams for about 2 weeks I have noticed that my skin got a healthy glow. Since both products should rather be used together for the best result, I did apply a small amount of day cream in the morning, after having washed my face, and a small amount of a night cream before going to bed. The first impression was great: I did feel the firming effect, skin absorbed the cream very quickly (so I did not have to go sleep with the oily face…) and it had a natural, pleasant smell.

According to Aviendo, creams are supposed to improve the overall structure of the skin creating natural firmness and binding moisture. Since both creams contain aloe vera extract, one should expect the skin to get protected from damage. Even though I actually have 5-6 different facial creams on my shelve in the bathroom, I currently am still using Aviendo. Could be a nice coincidence since I started eating healthy, too, but I have noticed that my small pimples on my cheeks disappeared as well.

+ Natural, pleasant smell

+ Simple packaging

+ Pumps (i.e. easy to use)

+  Great texture

+ Skin absorbs creams really quickly

+ A noticeable glowing effect after the usage

- Pumps would sometimes stop working

- Cream does not get absorbed too quickly if the face is damp

Even though the company is relatively new in the market, it seems that they are doing a good job when it comes to marketing healthy lifestyles and natural skincare products. Copenhagen-Based Qua Organic Skincare Production

Qua Organic follows the philosophy “The beauty without the beast.” Company’s production is certified by Ecocert by the highest level certification ‘Organic’ and it does not consist synthetic ingredients and chemicals that sometimes give fast but in a long run harmful effects.

Every package of Qua products have a sign of NO parabens, glycols, sulphates, silicones, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, DEA (Diethanolamine), TEA (Triethanolamine) or PEGS (polyethylene glycol). Production is not tested on animals. The commitment “Yes – to beautiful skin, No – to harmful ingredients” reflects on the company’s attitude towards the natural beauty and effort they are putting to promote organic and healthier way of treating ones skin.

I’ve tried three products by this company, beginning with double phase makeup remover (225 DKK for 150ml), then detox face mask (275,- for 100ml) and finally active moisturizing face cream (335,- for 50ml).

Firstly, double phase makeup remover cleaned my face in fast few touches without having to scrub my eyes till they get sore. The statement on the makeup remover packaging says “When my makeup comes off my smile stays on” and it did. The product contains aloe vera and macadamia oil and gently removes the makeup leftovers without irritating skin. It is necessary to shake the bottle before using the make up remover to activate double phase effect. You’d think it is just a formality what they write on juice bottles or all of the cosmetics but it is not. I’ve noticed that if not shaken the makeup remover gets little bit too oily for my skin. However, it is also better to rinse it once again with lukewarm water and it is also advised on the packaging, if you read thoroughly.

Second product that I’ve tested was the detox face mask that instantly intrigued me. The blood circulation was effected immediately and my skin got the healthy glow. The mask also includes macadamia, jojoba oils, aloe vera and shea butter. It’s consistency is light and it does not cause dry the skin after using. Overall, it was an interesting product to try and even though I’m a bigger fan of homemade face masks I enjoyed using this product.

And finally, the active moisturizing face cream enriched with vitamin E and natural oils. Honestly, I adore that cosmetics companies try not to use artificial additives and fragrances but sometimes you just need a drop of natural grapefruit oil to improve the product. The cream was everything what you would expect from a moisturizing cream, except… the smell. It did irritate me since it slightly reminded me of mushrooms, champignons to be precise. But with the sense of smell it is the same as with sense of taste, everybody has it differently. I’ve asked a few of my friends to try it and tell me whether it annoys them. Some did agree with me, some didn’t. Anyhow, the moisturizing effect was ok and the cream did comfort the skin. As the cream contains shea butter fruit oil, jojoba seed oil and glycerin, you can be sure that your face will be safe to bear the cold of winter if you put a drop on your cheeks before you leave the apartment.

  • Natural ingredients
  • Pleasant texture
  • Funny or witty comments on the packaging (maybe not an advantage but a funny feature indeed)
  • Instant effect of detox face mask

  • Slightly disappointing package design
  • Irritating smell of the facial cream

In a nutshell, I’m not used to spend a lot of money on pre-made face masks but I am left satisfied with Qua detox face mask, so I might purchase it once more. Even though I wouldn’t buy face cream, it leaves the skin soft and smooth. I don’t know which was more effective or the actual products, or the idea that products consist high amount of natural ingredients from organic farming and are healthier. I guess both had some effect. Of course, it is not enough to use natural products on your skin and it is more important to pamper your body from inside eating healthy. And the winter holiday period spent back at my mommy’s with tons of food and traveling might have reduced the effectivity of skin care products and increased my general weight, however the Qua is worth trying.

More information about the company and Qua products you can find in Qua Organic page.

Sibu Beauty – Natural Beauty Products With Sea Buckthorn

Sibu Beauty is offering premium skin care products made of handpicked Himalayan sea buckthorn berries. Sibu Beauty’s products are cruelty free and 100% vegan approved by PETA. Moreover, it is GMO-free and fair trade promoting equal and sustainable relationship with villagers who harvest berries under healthy and safe work conditions, fair wages and processes that are environmentally sustainable.

Sea buckthorn is known as beauty and health berry in Europe and Asia. It consists of antioxidants, vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and C, minerals, and fatty acids. It is the world’s richest source of Omega 7 fatty acid. Omega 7 boosts the collagen production and helps to maintain skin’s elasticity and health, helps to combat wrinkles, dryness, manage weight, improve digestion and cardiovascular health. Sea buckthorn is known to regulate the metabolism and supports and improves immune system. I recall how my grandmother used to make me sea buckthorn marmalade when I was feeling ill when child. When I was offered to review Sibu Beauty skin care products I was instantly intrigued.

Sibu beauty

I had a chance to try purifying mask and hydrating serum (whereas my colleague tried vitamins and facial cleanser). Both of the products I tried have gentle, pleasant smell although there is no additional perfume. The purifying mask (~165Dkk for 60ml) has grainy little bit heavy texture, however it feels refreshing applied on the skin. It has to be applied a thin layer to face and neck and left for 5-7 minutes until it dries partially then gently rinsed away with lukewarm water. I am mega satisfied with the outcome. For the best result it has to be used once in a week and the effect feels right away. Skin refreshes and gains smoothness and radiance.

The second product from Sibu Beauty is non-oily hydrating serum (~220 Dkk for 30ml). It is applied on clean face and neck with gentle massaging motion morning and evening. The serum itself is extremely light, though leaves a slightly sticky feeling. It was not an absolute pleasure for the first but after few days the feeling proves to do good since my skin gained more elasticity and softness. As I know my skin which is stubborn as a kid in a candy shop, it was however extremely satisfied with Sibu Beauty products.

As mentioned, my colleague tried facial cleanser and vitamins. Sea buckthorn balancing facial cleanser, according to her, felt more like a tender scrub which would eliminate blackheads and would leave skin refreshened. It’s non-foaming and, just like two previous products, smells pleasantly even though it’s perfume-free but contains orange and lemon essential oils. The the price – ~98Dkk for 118ml, according to her, seemed reasonable, especially, as she said, “since it’s natural, pleasant and deep cleansing products in Denmark cost much more, so it is a good value for money”. However, Sea Buchthorn Cellular Support softgels did not “show” any impact within a month that she would use them.

+ Reasonable price;

+ Natural ingredients;

+ Pleasant smell;

+ Easy-to-use packages.

- Sibu Beauty does not ship to Denmark directly, it could be found just in retailers shops.

To sum up, these skin care products left me with a wide smile on my face and hopefully with boosted collagen production and protection from cold weather attacks. I also would love to try sea buckthorn seed oil and exfoliating scrub to pamper my skin, however I have to admit that the product is premium as well is the price. Unfortunately I already spent all my money on Christmas presents.

Billion Dollar Brows: Is It Really Worth a Billion?

Taking care of one’s eyebrows is yet another ritual in a woman’s life. Like many things connected to a woman’s body, almost every woman has an issue with her own eyebrows. It’s either too thin or too thick. Too dark or too light. Thankfully, the make-up industry is there to help us!

Billion Dollar Brows

The importance of eyebrows in defining a woman’s look is usually understated. What a difference an eyebrow makes becomes clear ones a woman decides to visit a beauty parlor. I remember the first time I went and the pain of having my eyebrow hair tweezed out made me cry. But was it worth! My eyes looked bigger and I felt altogether more adult. What one told me though, is that it is a no-going back moment. Eyebrows will grow back and you will have to deal with it.

Billion Dollar Brows sells a kit that has anything one need: scissors, a tweezer, a universal brow pencil, and their exclusive, patented ‘brow buddy’. The brow buddy is a rather simple yet ingenious tool that helps defining the perfect eyebrow shape, pointing out the beginning, the arch and the end, which is then traced with the pencil. Anything that falls out of that perimeter can be tweezed out. Simple, right? This is, of course, in theory. In practice, even drawing a perimeter for your eyebrows is not as easy as it seems. You need a steady hand and good lights. Also, it is not that simple to understand where the pencil draws a line in your eyebrows. The outline I shaped was not much different from what my original shape was, so I did not find much to tweeze out if not small hair that were growing back.

From my experience with the kit, I can suggest that it becomes useful only when someone has not been to a beauty parlor in a long time and has not kept their eyebrows clean in the meantime. The easiest way to keep your eyebrows neat is, in fact, to have it done once by a professional, and then regularly tweezing the hair that grows back.

This kit costs $45 (circa kr. 250) on the Billion Dollar Brows website. It is overall not worth this much money. The tweezer is the highlight of the kit, it stands up to its promise “to grab every hair, every time.” The scissors in the kit as fairly useless, since probably everyone already has a similar pair anyway. The brow buddy instrument and the universal brow pencil are useful, but as mentioned previously you need to be quite skillful in using them before achieving good results.

As part of the kit I also got to try the brow duo pencil, concealer on one side and highlighter on the other. This one I would actually recommend. I never tried such a thing before, but its subtle effect does give an impression of neater and brighter look. The set of products altogether get a 7 out of 10!

Advantages: you get all that you need to take care of the eyebrows at once. No need to worry about buying the right products.

Disadvantages: the price, and it is still not very handy for those who are not used to take care of their eyebrows.

The facial toner from Sasé smells exactly like that. Fresh, inviting and juicy. It helps to close your pores after cleansing and does so gently, without leaving your skin too dry, you can be sure your skin is ready for the further.

Pomegranate toner

Skin like silk and lips like roses

After a daily treatment with these products before bed time will guarantee a deep and peaceful sleep. What better way to put an end to all the worries and stress you accumulated during the day?

Because life is made of little special moments, I personally am a big fan of facial masks. I just love those few minutes of peace and quiet which recharge me with the necessary energy to carry on with my very busy daily routine. Happiness comes from the simplest things; in my case happiness comes in a little jar. The Sasé nourishing and firming facial mask with green tea and honey is simply addicting. It is one of the best masks that can fit to any skin type, which incorporates both effectiveness and freshness when talking about it. I would recommend it to all of my closest friends as a little secret of how to save money on spa’s and have a girl day either alone or with friends. Either way it is definitely a MUST TRY!

Facial mask

The amazing Sasé products are just something a modern woman can’t live without. It can be used by any type of skin without a problem and it has been proved useful to women ranging from 20 till 50 years old. Their smart packaging can prove itself very useful when traveling even by plane in your hand luggage as they have the exact perfect amount of product. Don’t be scared of new and you will be given back immediate results from only a few times of usage.

Advantages: fresh and exotic smells which give boost of energy; soft and deep cleansing capabilities as well as the sense of luxury. Comfortable, clean and Scandinavian-looking packaging definitely attracts an eye, therefore it makes a great present.

Disadvantages: we could say its price as it is above average. Yet I could argue that for a luxury line as Sasé you pay for the quality, which you will be satisfied about.

Don’t waste any time and go buy one of these extraordinary products at a retailer near you. For lucky girls living in Aarhus you can purchase Sasé products at Magasin, otherwise you can purchase products online.
