Certainly not. Boxing training classes are designed to all demographics (male, female, child and adult) and are suitable for everybody no matter what your goals are.
To be honest I was kind of reluctant to try this type of training because boxing has never excited me. Yet I decided give it a try. When I first attended a boxing training class I was a little bit afraid that I might be the only girl there but I was surprised realizing that there were more female sport enthusiast than male… This could mean that if there was a reason you haven’t tried this class yet, it should be deleted from your list.
We have started our class with 10 minutes warm-up and by the end of it I was sweating pretty hard and felt like I had been through all workout. After that, different strength and conditioning routines followed including running as well. Also, the trainer showed elements used in traditional boxing and only when 20 minutes left until the end of the class we have performed “real” boxing as Rocky Balboa, only difference – sand bag instead of opponent in the boxing ring…so it’s totally safe!
If you have never been to a boxing class before, I would recommend you to invite a friend to join you because the biggest part of exercises is done in pairs and that would give you more confidence.
When it comes to benefits of boxing training, I must admit I was surprised to realized that there are many of them. Yet my favorite one is that it really increases your stamina and insurance. Also, boxing training offers variety of training methods and helps to improve your reaction time.
If you wish to change your daily training to something different sometimes, try boxing training. You can find boxing and boxing intro classes in all major fitness centers, such as Fitness World or FitnessDK. Of course, the classes also vary from the trainer so after a few trials you can choose your favorite one and be more self-confident when walking alone late in evening.
